Body of teenage boy found in Fayetteville apartment

A 17-year-old boy was found dead inside a vacant apartment last week in Fayetteville, according to a news release.

Police said officers responded to a call at 11:29 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at Southmont Apartments, 1101 S. Curtis Ave., where the boy’s body was located inside a closet of the empty apartment.

The boy had reportedly been missing for six days, and was a resident of the apartment complex.

According to police, there were no signs of physical trauma or foul play.

The boy’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
