Event flyer

Who wants ice cream? If you said “Me!,” “I do,” or “Duh” just now, you should mark your calendar for Saturday, Aug. 19.

That’s the date for this year’s Washington County Historical Society Ice Cream Social, happening that day from 3-6 p.m. at the Headquarter’s House Museum (118 E. Dickson Street).

The event includes homemade cakes, live music, tours of the historical Headquarter’s House Museum, a book signing from the writers of the recently released The Square Book, and of course, plenty of delicious ice cream.

There will also be an exhibit titled The Great War: Arkansas in World War I on loan from the Arkansas State Archives to check out at the event.

Admission is $5 for adults, or $2.50 for kids 6-12. A family ticket is also available for $15.

Proceeds from the event benefit the historical society.
