Do you guys know why Fayetteville is awesome? There are a lot of reasons, actually, but one of them is that a lot incredibly caring folks live here that are always quick to pitch in to help out a neighbor in need.

That place of need at the moment happens to be in south Texas, where Hurricane Harvey has caused some unprecedented flooding and devastation in the Houston area. As they always seem to, some local folks are stepping up to do what they can to help.

We’ve had a few readers ask about local places to donate money or goods to the cause, so we decided to start a list here on the Flyer.

If you know of other local donation centers, feel free to share that information in the comments.

In addition, you may text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the Red Cross. You can also visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Here are the local places looking to help out that we know of so far.
