Poker ride planned at breweries along Fayetteville trail system on Sept. 17

The inaugural Miracle Travel Works Poker Ride is set for Sunday, Sept. 17 starting at Core Public House on Mud Creek Trail in Fayetteville.

The non-profit organization provides financial assistance to families seeking urgent medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured child away from home.

Check-in is at 1 p.m. and after that, participants will make their way to JJ’s Beer Garden & Brewing Co. and then onto Scull Creek and Frisco trails for stops at Fossil Cove Brewing Co., Columbus House Brewery and West Mountain Brewing Co. Riders will receive a playing card at each stop.

The final card and grand prize will be awarded to the best poker hand at Damgoode Pies in Fayetteville where participants can enjoy free food and beer specials. Additional cards may be purchased at Damgoode Pies to improve the hand.

Bicycles are not required. Participants can get to each location any way they choose.

The grand prize winner will receive a luxury weekend vacation in Eureka Springs, with two nights at the historic Crescent Hotel, dinner at area restaurants and some spending money (approximate value: $800).

Price is $40 per participant, and registration is available online at miracletravelworks.org.
