Wanna watch a movie? How about a lot of movies? The Fayetteville Film Festival kicked off earlier this week, and runs through the weekend. There are four feature films, and dozens of shorts, documentaries, music videos, and more on the schedule this weekend. Block passes start at $5, and there are still some day passes available for the Saturday showings for $20 (plus fees). For more information, check out the website.

There’s plenty of good music in town Friday night as well. Songwriter Corey Smith is at George’s, local rock band Moonsong is at Nomad’s, and Austin Americana act Palomino Shakedown is at Smoke & Barrel with locals, Dumptruck Boyz.

The semi-annual Square to Square Bike Ride is Saturday. This year’s event starts at the Bentonville Square, and will ride into Fayetteville beginning at 8 a.m. Expect to see some cyclists at the Farmers’ Market.

There’s a fun sounding festival about 20 miles west of Fayetteville in Cane Hill this weekend. The 31st annual Cane Hill Harvest Festival has a pretty sweet lineup of music, including John Moreland, Trout Fishing in America, Jack Williams, Arkansauce, and several other acts. The event runs on Saturday and Sunday. Here’s more information.

Collier Drug Store is turning 100 years old, and they’ve got a celebration planned on Saturday with live music, free food, a mobile soda fountain, and more. The party goes from 1-5 p.m. Here’s more info.

How about some laughs? The local storytellers from That’s What She Said Show will kick off a new season at a new venue this year. They’ll be at the Sunrise Stage inside Sunrise Guitars. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Music-wise, Fayetteville Roots Festival veteran Pokey LaFarge is back in town for a show at George’s. He puts on a pretty great show. Tickets are $20 (plus fees) at George’s ticketing site.
