The City of Fayetteville is seeking volunteers to help clean up Lake Sequoyah next month.

The city will host a clean up event from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Lake Sequoyah Marina.

Volunteers will pick up litter along the lakeshore and surrounding trails and roads, and will also have an opportunity to hike, paddle, and explore the lake and park area. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing for the cleanup. A hat, long sleeves, closed toed shoes or muck boots are recommended. Bug spray and sunscreen are also encouraged.

Water will be provided, and sponsors will hand out supplies, and provide necessary training for volunteers.

The clean up event is family friendly, and open to the public.
