A show that has been called “too beautiful to miss” is coming to Fayetteville next week.

The Walton Arts Center will open their 2017-18 Broadway season with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The King & I, playing Oct. 3-8 in the art center’s Baum Walker Hall.

From the synopsis:

Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

The show, considered by many to be among Rodgers and Hammerstein’s finest works, features all the beloved classic songs that have delighted Broadway fans for years, including “Getting To Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance” and “Something Wonderful.”

We also have two tickets to give away to the opening night performance. Good luck!
