The fifth annual Kessler Trail Run is coming up next month.
The race, which runs through some of the most scenic trains in all of NWA, is set for Saturday, Oct. 14 on Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville.
The event is organized by the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association, and raises funds to help the FNHA make good on their commitment to raise $300,000 to help offset the city’s cost to purchase the 328 acres known as the Kessler Mountain Reserve. The city purchased the land for $3 million in 2014.
This year’s events will start at Kessler Mountain Regional Park, located at 2600 Judge Cummings Road in Fayetteville, and will finish on the west side near the Fayettechill warehouse (in the old Ozark Smokehouse building), located at 1725 S. Smokehouse Trail.
A post-run party will follow at the finish line area at around 11 a.m., and will feature live music, food and drinks from local vendors.
Cost for both races is $40. Admission to the after-party is $10. Online registration is now open.
