Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member John Oates is coming to Fayetteville this month.

The songwriter and Oates half of famed duo Hall & Oates will perform at Walton Arts Center at a benefit for the Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Oates will perform with songwriter David Starr, a native Arkansan living in Colorado who has collaborated with Oates in the past. The two actually played together in Fayetteville a few years ago.

The Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation is a local organization dedicated to providing support and resources for professional and family caregivers fighting Alzheimer’s diesease.

Both Starr and Oates said the cause is near and dear to their heart.

“My family has been personally affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. It is important to me to be involved and try to help reduce the effects of and eradicate this insidious disease,” Oates said.

“The Broyles Foundation is doing great work to support caregivers and I really felt strongly about getting involved,” Starr said. “It is my hope that by bringing the issue to the forefront with this show, we can raise both money and awareness to help the Foundation support caregivers and families of Alzheimer’s sufferers.”

Tickets to the show are $75, on sale now at waltonartscenter.org.
