Local Harry Potter fan convention set for March 17 in Fayetteville

Get pumped, Harry Potter fans. Some local folks are planning an unofficial fan convention dedicated to your favorite world of witchcraft and wizardry.

The first ever DiaCON Alley of the Ozarks convention is set for March 17, 2018 at the Fayetteville Town Center.

From the event website:

One night, a bunch of Harry Potter nerds got together and said to themselves “WHY isn’t there a Harry Potter fan convention in NW Arkansas?”. It just didn’t seem right. In fact, it just seemed down right ridiculous. Why, we have witches, witchards, and wizards here amongst the muggles just like anywhere else in the jurisdiction of the Magical Congress of the United States of America!

The schedule and ticket information hasn’t been released yet, but according to the event Facebook page, it will include “wizarding / fantasy inspired goods and crafts,” along with themed food, panel discussinos, games, a costume contest, scavenger hunt, and other activities.

Organizers are currently seeking vendors and volunteers for the event.
