Attendees sample beers at last year’s Frost Fest event

Fayetteville’s favorite winter outdoor beer festival is returning for round three this summer.
The third annual Frost Fest craft beer festival, organized by the folks behind Fossil Cove Brewing Co., is set for 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2463 McConnell Ave (next to the Washington County Fairgrounds).
The event features brew from a host of breweries around the region, live music, vendors, artists, food trucks, and more.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of the event is its practice of bringing in brewers and representatives from the actual participating breweries (as opposed to volunteers) to pour the beer and interact with festival attendees.
“One of the things we wanted to get away from was the impersonal atmosphere of some beer festivals when it comes to out-of-state brands,” organizer and Fossil Cove founder Ben Mills told us in 2016 when he announced the inaugural event.
Last year’s event included 38 breweries from eight states, and more than 2,000 folks attended.
A list of participating breweries is due out today, and we’ll add that information below once it becomes available.
Early bird tickets are $35, on sale now at the Fossil Cove tasting room and the festival Eventbrite page. After Jan. 5, general admission tickets go up to $40. A limited number of “beer enthusiast” tickets that come with some extra perks are also available for $60.
It’s a rain, snow, or shine event, and there are no refunds for the tickets. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
A portion of festival proceeds will be used to support Apple Seeds Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to educating children about where food comes from.
