Winter Solstice Art Action event planned at Walker Stone House

Tomorrow marks the longest night of the night of the year, and some local folks are coming together to try and make it a memorable one in Fayetteville.

Experience Fayetteville has organized a Winter Solstice Art Action event and party at the Historic Walker Stone House in Downtown Fayetteville for 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21.

The event will feature a host of activities and performances, with each room of the historic house filled with music, craft projects, refreshments, and more. Performers include Jules Taylor’s kid-friendly act, Shakey Bugs, and theatre by LatinX. The You-Play-It Piano from the Stuart Davis exhibition at Crystal Bridges will also be set up for attendees that feel like tickling the ivories themselves.

There will also be a make-and-take outdoor wreath making station by Ozark Natural Foods, a paper play station by Shindig Paperie, and a succulent station by Southside Succuleents.

In addition to the activities, attendees can also check out the relatively new public art pieces installed at the Walker Stone House as part of the Green Candy Art Action events from earlier this year, including a mural by Bicicleta Sem Freio of Brazil, and a sculpture by Bordalo II of Portugal.

The event is free to attend and open to the public.
