FLYER GUIDE: New Year’s Eve events in and around Fayetteville

Who’s ready to say “See you later” to 2017, and “Hey, baby” to 2018?

If it’s you, we’ve got great news for you. It’s almost New Year’s Eve.

Here are several options for ways to ring in the new year in and around Fayetteville this year. We’ll add to this list between now and the big night, so feel free to let us know what we’ve missed in the comments.

Backspace

Backspace will ring in the new year with a record release party for locals band, The Wirms, along with some live comedy, plus lots more music.

Comedians to perform that evening include JJ Molinaro, TJ Green, Cammy Monroe, and Colin Nelson. Bands include The Phlegms, Ten High, The Wirms, and The Gebharts.

Admission is $10, and comes with a copy of the Wirms vinyl debut.

C4 Lounge

C4 Lounge will host a NYE17 Masquerade Party featuring music by DJ Sno White, Karaoke, a photo booth, and a champagne toast.

Crystal Bridges

The Great Hall at Crystal Bridges will be transformed into a glowing disco room for New Year’s Eve this year. Their New 365 event features music by Jack Novak, DJ Robe Flax, and Matt Stansberry & The Romance, art installations by local artists Emily Chase and Kat Wilson, light appetizers, and a champaign toast at midnight.

Fayetteville Square

Last Night Fayetteville is the biggest NYE party in town.

This year’s event includes several stages of performances, including music on the main stage inside the Fayetteville Town Center by local rockers Randall Shreve & The Devilles, funky dudes The 1 oz. Jig, folk outfit National Park Radio, and cellist Serrano Torres this year. There’s a folk stage inside the Odom Building on the square featuring the Trumann Rail Boys, Route 358, The Lark & the Loon, and Woody & Sunshine. At Stage 18, there’s a fun show at Stage 18 featuring The Irie Lions, Shannon Wurst, Jamie Lou & the Hullaballo and Foggy Bobcat.

There’s a new EDM stage this year inside Axis Lounge, featuring Fractac Sky, Purp Loder, No.Faces, Mesh, and NUGSTUFR.

Want some theatre? The theatre stage this year features a performance of one-man show “There Ain’t No More” by Willi Carlisle, storytelling by That’s What She Said, and poetry by Doug Shields.

A Cabaret Stage is also planned, featuring Terranova Tribal Bellydancers, Illusionist Michael Weiss, True Grit & Grind Burlesque, and Diamond Divas Drag.

The comedy stage this year will feature Comedians NWA, Roughhouse Comedy Collective, and That’s What She Said Show.

A “Hog drop,” (similar to the ball-drop in Times Square) featuring a 8.5-foot-long hog sculpture is set for at midnight as attendees count down the arrival of the New Year, and there will be a fireworks display finale as well.

George’s Majestic Lounge

George’s will be doing what they do best for New Year’s Eve. Celebrating with live music.

This year’s show features excellent local bluegrass outfit, Arkansauce, along with awesome indie outfit, The Too’s. Isaac from The Too’s announced recently he is moving to Portland soon, so you’d better see those guys while you can.

Grub’s

Grub’s is planning a huge New Year’s Eve bash with some dance music, $2 shot specials, $10 bottles of champagne (w/ a free toast at midnight), and more. There’s no cover.

Inn at Carnal Hall

Inn at Carnal Hall is hosting a “Swanky NYE Soiree” featuring live music by Vintage Pistol, and art from local artists. Here’s more info.

JJ’s Grill – Steamboat Drive

Local band Maud Crawford will perform at JJ’s Steamboat Drive location for New Year’s Eve. There’s no cover.

JJ’s Grill – Dickson Street

JJ’s Grill on Dickson Street will ring in the new year with locals The Odds. Admission is zero dollars.

Maxine’s Tap Room

Maxine’s will ring in the new year with DJ Clunk & Friends on the turntables iPad, a dance party with a light-up dance floor, and a champagne toast at midnight. There’s no cover.

On the Mark

On the Mark Sports Bar will host a casino night for New Year’s Eve this year.

Smoke & Barrel

Smoke & Barrel Tavern will ring in the new year with their Worst Year Ever: New Year’s Eve Party. There’s no cover, and local DJs Shortfuze and Chaz Bizar will be providing the music this year.

Springdale Holiday Inn

Some local radio stations are hosting a party at the Springdale Holiday Inn. The event will include live music by Funk Factory, a champagne toast at midnight, and the hotel will also have sleeping room specials for those who have a little too much fun.

Starlight Skatium

Starlight Skatium will host an all night skate event for New Year’s eve this year. Admission for the all night event is $25, and includes New Year’s hats and party favors, and a balloon drop at midnight. More info about the event is available here.

Whiskey 101

Whiskey 101, formerly The Electric Cowboy, is planning a New Year’s Eve party including a giveaway of $2,018 in “cash and prizes,” a balloon drop, and champagne toast at midnight.
