Foghorn’s Express to open inside Core pub on Mission Boulevard

Core Public House on Mission Boulevard will soon share their space with the first ever Foghorn’s Express location

A local restaurant chain is teaming up with a local brewery to provide a little sustenance for their hungry pub customers.

Foghorn’s, a local sports bar and restaurant chain with four locations in NWA (and a fifth set to open in Siloam Springs soon) recently announced plans to open their first “Express” location inside Core Public House at 2558 E. Mission Blvd in Fayetteville.

The partnership came about in a conversation during a meeting about serving Core’s beer in Foghorn’s restaurants, and the need to offer food in Core’s Public Houses. Core’s brews have always been a good sellers at Foghorn’s, the owners wondered if their partnership might work just as well the other way around.

“We just thought, we’re good at food, you’re good at beer, let’s focus on what we do well and work together,” Foghorn’s owner Jeff Hodges told us.

The “express” restaurant will focus on a smaller menu than other Foghorn’s locations, while still offering some of the best-selling items – their wings, boneless wings, cheeseburgers, pulled pork, and other options. To start, the wings will be offered with 10 of Foghorn’s signatures sauces and eight of their dry rubs.

Hodges said if things go well, this could be the beginning of a larger partnership between the two companies.

“We’re two well-known local brands, and we think it’s a great fit,” Hodges said. “If it goes well, there definitely could be more opportunities in the future.”

Core founder Jesse Core was equally excited about the possibilities.

“I’m a big Foghorn’s fan, and my family eats at the Springdale location all the time,” Core said. “I mean, wings and beer. It’s a marriage made in heaven. I think this is a big win for both our our companies.”

Core added that partnering with locally-owned company was also important to him.

“We try to partner with local companies any time we can,” he said. “We’ve worked with Kyya Chocolate and Bolder Coffee on projects, and we really like to keep things local.”

Foghorn’s Express will follow the same hours as the brew pub for now, from 3-9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 3-11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 12-11 p.m. on Saturday, and 12-9 p.m. on Sundays.

The restaurant is set to open officially on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1.
