Alabama band and Merge records artist Waxahatchee is coming to Fayetteville this winter.

The band is coming to Smoke & Barrel Tavern for a show on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Waxahatchee was created by songwriter Katie Crutchfield, and if the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because their fourth album Out in the Storm was on just about everyone’s best albums of the year list in 2017.

The record has been called Crutchfield’s “most autobiographical and honest album to date,” as a “self-reflective anchor in the story of both her songwriting and her life.”

It was named the No. 1 album for 2017 on Uproxx, No. 9 on Stereogum, No. 10 on The A.V. Club, No. 13 on Pitchfork, and No. 14 on Rolling Stone’s year end albums of the year lists.

Crutchfield will play the Fayetteville show as a solo artist. Tickets are $12 in advance, and $15 the day of the show.
