Weekend Flyer: Cabaret, Pallbearer, and more

Friday, Jan. 19

Cabaret is playing at the WAC this weekend / Courtesy

No offense, but some of you guys look like you could use a happy hour. Luckily, George’s has one every Friday night, and this week, local favorites Earl & Them are playing in the garden. It’s $5 to get in.

Later on, country-rockers Jason Boland & The Stragglers are in town for a show (also at George’s). Tickets are $25.

There’s a fundraiser for the American Heart Association happening at the Fayetteville Town Center Friday night. The organization’s annual Paint the Town Red event is set for 7 p.m. Friday night, and has a “Paint through the Decades” theme. Here’s a bit more info.

A big Broadway show is playing at the Walton Arts Center this weekend. The touring version of Cabaret is in town for shows Friday-Sunday this weekend. Here’s ticket info, if you don’t have yours already.

There’s a Fayetteville Women’s March happening on the square on Saturday. The event will include a rally in front of the Fayetteville Town Center featuring several speakers, and then a march will make its way from the square down Mountain Street to the Fayetteville Public Library. Here’s more information.

One of the best metal bands in the world happens to be from Arkansas, and they’re in town for a show this weekend. Little Rock-based Pallbearer has been widely-acclaimed by critics nationally for their epic style of doom/progressive metal, and they’ll perform at George’s Saturday night with Sumokem, and local legends, Vore.

Also in tunes, local bands Moonsong and Moldilocks are performing at Nomad’s, and Sad Palomino, Ten High, and Mouton are at Smoke & Barrel Tavern.
