The Humans is a dense, slice-of-life look at the troubling realities of being human.” That’s what our reviewer wrote of TheatreSquared’s new show, the Tony Award-winning play now playing at Nadine Baum Studios. There are several chances to see it this weekend, and it sounds like a show not to be missed.

Speaking of cool shows, there’s some super interesting theatre scheduled to happen at Backspace this weekend as well. The show, titled “Butcher Holler Here We Come,” tells the story of some stranded coal miners, and is lit entirely by headlamps worn by the actors. Here’s a New York Times Review for more info. According to the ticketing site, all but the Sunday night show is sold out.

Some super talented musicians will be playing an all time favorite album front-to-back at Walton Arts Center Friday night. The folks from Classic Albums Live will be performing the Fleetwood Mac record, Rumors in its entirety in Baum Walker Hall. Here’s ticket info.

Frost Fest

There’s a big old beer fest near the Washington County Fairgrounds on Saturday. Frost Fest, the annual craft brew festival organized by the folks from Fossil Cove, is set to begin at 3 p.m., and will feature brews created by brewers from all over the region. The event will include music by Sad Daddy, Yokohama Drifters, and Cadillac Jackson, food, and of course, plenty of beer. Here’s ticket info.

Music-wise, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band founding member John McEuen and the Circle Band will be at Walton Arts Center, and there’s a three band bill at George’s with Opal Agafia, Kris Lager Band, and Lucas Parker Band.
