Public invited to discuss historic preservation in Fayetteville

City planners and members of the Historic District Commission will host an informational panel discussion on potential protections for historic resources in Fayetteville.

The public is invited to attend the meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5 in the Community Room at Ozarks Natural Foods, located at 1554 N. College Ave.

Ed Zimmer, historic preservation planner with Lincoln, Neb., will talk about experiences with Lincoln’s preservation ordinance.
Catherine Barrier, local government coordinator with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, will discuss a more traditional approach to preserving historic districts. Christine Myers, chair of the Fayetteville Historic District Commission, will facilitate the discussion.
