Free Hands-Only CPR class offered Feb. 21

As part of National Heart Awareness Month, Washington Regional Medical Center is offering a free Hands Only CPR Instruction event on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

According to a press release about the event, Hands-Only is “a simple two-step process, has been shown to be as effective as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest at home, at work or in public. It can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival.”

The instruction will be available from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on a drop-in bases in the lobby of the medical center at 3215 N. North Hills Blvd.

Representatives from the hospital chest pain center, Central EMS, and the American Heart Association will be on hand for the event, and light refreshments will be provided.
