From the announcement:

Slayer was one of the most distinctive, influential and extreme bands of the 1980s. They remain the preeminent punk-thrash band that helped establish the genre and that up-and-coming metal heads continue to revere and emulate. Their graphic lyrics deal with everything from death to war and their full-throttle velocity, wildly chaotic guitar solos and powerful musical chops paint an effectively chilling background for their chronicling of the dark side.

Slayer has released 12 studio albums and won two Grammy Awards in its 37-year run. Four of the band’s albums have received gold certification in the United States.
