… Upbeat, lively rhythms… The lyrics are fun and playfully activate young listeners while often teaching important lessons.” – Orange County Museum of Art

“You might think you’ve wandered into a kids-only jazzy club in a hidden New Orleans side street.” KindieMusicDC

This month, celebrated songwriter, music educator and founder of Leaping Lizards Music Programs, Jazzy Ash travels to Northwest Arkansas to perform at Walton Arts Center with her band, Jazzy Ash & The Leaping Lizards!

Influenced by the music from her mother’s hometown of New Orleans, Ash and her five-piece band take children and families on a Crescent City inspired musical adventure! Gypsy jazz, zydeco, swing, blues and Dixieland sounds combine with Ash’s strong alto vocals and a fully orchestrated melody made up of a variety of fun instruments. Jazzy Ash & The Leaping Lizards are here to tell the stories behind songs from the mid-1800s to the early jazz era with a rollicking dance party, encouraging kids and their grown-ups to celebrate a rich part of the American folk music heritage that’s often forgotten.

Jazzy Ash’s music has been featured by LA Times and NPR, and continues to top the Children’s Music Charts. Jazzy Ash & The Leaping Lizards will perform an intimate show in Walton Arts Center’s Starr Theater on Tuesday, March 27 at Walton Arts Center. The show begins at 6:30pm. Tickets are $9 for children and $15 for adults and can be purchased at waltonartscenter.org.
