M&N Augustine Foundation’s annual Easter Feed set for Saturday

A local organization is planning a huge community meal this weekend.

The M&N Augustine Foundation will host their annual Easter Feed from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at Central United Methodist Church on Dickson Street.

Organizers are expecting more than 6,000 people to attend the event, which will include a meal cooked by local volunteers featuring turkey, ham, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, candied yams, dressing, rolls, drinks, and desserts. According to the flyer for the event, the event is intended for the “homeless, needy, elderly, lonely, unemployed, and displaced,” and “all are welcome.”

This year marks the 25th year for the event.

According to their website, The M&N Augustine Foundation’s is an all-volunteer organization that helps people persevere through catastrophic life events. In addition to the annual Easter Feed, the organization also operates a “caring kitchen” that feeds “veterans, elderly, homeless and the lonely” every Tuesday during the Summer and Tuesdays and Thursdays during the winter.
