Arkansas is in the midst of a big baseball series this weekend against South Carolina. The Hogs dropped the first game of the series on Thursday 3-2, but will have another shot at the Gamecocks (weather permitting) at 6:30 p.m. Friday night at Baum Stadium.

Music-wise, Oklahoma band Count Tutu is back in town for a show at Smoke & Barrel (check them out here), and a bunch of local musicians will come together again for an encore performance of their sold-out Tom Petty tribute at George’s Friday night.

Wanna hear some jokes? Nomad’s Music Lounge is hosting an installment of their Southtown Comedy Show on Friday night featuring comedian, Richard Douglas Jones.

It’s gonna be a little chilly at the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on Saturday, so grab a jacket before you head down there.

It’s a great weekend for sports in Fayetteville. There’s the Joe Martin Stage Race happening all weekend (check out the crits downtown on Sunday), there’s the John McDonnell Invitational track meet at John McDonnell Field on campus, and the Diamond Hogs will close out their series versus South Carolina at Baum Stadium on Saturday.

How was your prom experience in High School? You’ve got another shot at it this weekend at the Fayetteville Town Center. Local organization NWA Learning Center is hosting a ‘Second Chance Prom‘ fundraiser at the venue, featuring an evening of dancing, spiked punch, live auctions, and more. Here’s more info.

Comedy-wise, Trae Crowder, otherwise known as The Liberal Redneck, will bring his wellRED Comedy Tour to Walton Arts Center on Saturday night. Last we heard, there are still some tickets available for the show.

Also this weekend, the third annual Inverse Performing Arts Festival will be happening in locations all over the region. The Fayetteville performances will take place on Saturday near the UA’s Art & Design District at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Government Avenue. Here’s more info about the event.

There’s plenty more below. Do whatever you want.

Sundays criterium races are probably the most spectator-friendly part of the Joe Martin Stage Race, and are definitely worth checking out. Racers will speed around a closed course in downtown Fayetteville beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing for much of the morning. (Check out our guide to watching the race for more info.)

Fayetteville lost one of it’s most genuine individuals recently when musician Joseph Israel passed away, and several of his friends are coming together to pay tribute to his live at George’s Majestic Lounge on Sunday. Here’s more information about the show.
