The grandaddy of local beer festivals is back for year seven.

Of course, we’re talking about Fayetteville Foam Festival, set to return to the Fayetteville square on Saturday, May 12.

This year’s event will include more than 300 brews to sample from over 50 local, regional, and national breweries.

The fun starts at 5 p.m., where attendees will be given a 5 oz tasting glass, and access to booths featuring all the beers they care to drink. According to the event’s website, Mellow Mushroom, Baller Food Truck, Beaver Tails Pastry, and Yancey’s Dickson Street Dogs will provide the food this year.

VIPs can get early entry to the festival at 4 p.m., as well as access to an area complete with heavy hors d’oeuvres, and brews created for the event by the local home brewing club, FLOPS (Fayetteville Lovers of Pure Suds).

General admission tickets are $40, VIP tickets are $80, and designated driver tickets are also available for $20. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit The Lib Horn Fayetteville Animal Shelter, Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank, and the Breakaway Cycling Team.
