One of the biggest library parties of the year is coming up this weekend.

Of course, we’re talking about the kick off celebration for Fayetteville Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Club, set for 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.

The event will include live music by local kids from the School of Rock, a performance by Ballet Folklorico, a martial arts demonstration, as well as bounce houses, laser tag, airbrush tattoos, face painting, a photo booth, a food court, ballon animals, and other festivities for children and families.

“The kickoff party is our most celebrated bash of the year,” said library Executive Director David Johnson. “We encourage everyone to come be a part of this fun, family-friendly event for the community.”

The theme of this year’s summer reading club is “Libraries Rock.” Last year, nearly 4,000 local kids, teens, and adults participated in the club
