If you’ve always wanted to yell “Play some Skynyrd” at actual Skynyrd, you’ll get your chance this fall.

That’s because legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd is set to play the Walmart AMP on Friday, Sept. 28, coinciding with the annual Bikes, Blues & BBQ rally in Fayetteville.

You could also yell “Free Bird” at them. Or “Sweet Home Alabama,” or “That Smell” or “Simple Man,” or tons of other hit Skynyrd song names, and they’ll probably actually play them.

The band needs no introduction, with more than 30 million albums sold over a career that has spanned decades.

They will play locally as part of their planned “The Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour,” which will take them across much of the country this summer and well into the fall.

Several well known acts are set to play support for the farewell tour, and Marshall Tucker Band will open the local show.

Tickets to the local show range from $34.50 to $99.50 plus fees, and will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15. To purchase, visit the Walton Arts Center box office, call 479-443-5600, or visit amptickets.com.
