Restaurant News: Mojo’s Pints & Pies, Renzo’s Italian Steakhouse, Holy Cow Darn Good Burgers, and more

It’s been a little slow lately in the restaurant news department, but we did find a handful of places that have opened recently, or plan to soon open in Fayetteville.

Here’s what we know…

Mojo’s Pints & Pies

Mojo’s Pints & Pies will soon expand to the east side of town.

Owner Cley McCloy said he has begun the permitting process to open a second location for his well-loved pizza restaurant, currently operating at 1200 N. Garland Ave.

The new location will be built in the Kantz Shopping Center on Mission Boulevard, on the south side of the building beneath the overhang that formerly served as a bank drive-thru. It’s a large area, however, and once the restaurant is built, there will still be plenty of room for outdoor seating on a large patio.

McCloy said the new location will allow the restaurant to expand their delivery area a bit, and reach a new audience of potential east Fayetteville customers.

Construction is set to begin soon, but no timeline for opening has been established just yet. We’ll keep you posted.

Mamaka Bowls

A new restaurant specializing in acai bowls, smoothies, and other healthy food is now open in the new mixed-use development on Prairie Street.

The new place, called Mamaka Bowls, is at 495 W Prairie Street.

Mamaka is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Zippie’s

A new food truck is open in south Fayetteville.

The new place, called Zippie’s, is located in the parking lot of the building currently home to Jane’s Place at 2262 S School Ave.

The menu focuses on sandwiches, hot dogs, French fries, and other no-fuss faire. Most everything on the menu is priced at $3.99. Here’s a link.

The truck is open most days from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Renzo’s Pasta and Italian Steakhouse

The folks behind Spiedini (formerly open on Crossover Road) have opened a new restaurant.

Local chef Robert Lee has opened a new Italian joint at 1214 N. Garland Ave., in the space formerly home to Four Corners Kitchen.

The menu, as you might expect, focuses on pasta dishes, along with steaks, salads, and sandwiches.

The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Fork & Crust

A new pie shop is now open in Fayetteville.

Fork and Crust, a bakery with locations in Rogers and Bentonville, has expanded to open a Fayetteville store in the building that had been home to Vintage Cargo (600 N. Mission Blvd.) for the last few years.

The shop specializes in all types of pies available in a variety of sizes.

They are open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Holy Cow Darn Good Burgers

A new food truck claiming to have the “best darn burgers in town” is now open on Dickson Street.

Holy Cow Darn Good Burgers opened last month in Shulertown Food Truck court.

The menu focuses on 10 burgers featuring locally-sourced beef, along with a handful of hotdog and milkshake options.

They are open Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until 3 a.m.

Fat Bottomed Girls

Fat Bottomed Girls Cupcake Shop has officially opened a Fayetteville location.

The restaurant, which is best known for its appearance on Season 2 of Food Network reality show “Cupcake Wars”, is open at 11 N. Block Ave., in the space formerly home to The French Quarters.

As you’d probably expect, the menu is all about sweets. They focus on 20 flavors of cupcakes, 32 flavors of ice cream, 20 flavors of cotton candy, gourmet candies, coffee, cookie sandwiches, and other sugary treats.

The shop is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Paris Bangkok

Staff photo

Paris Bangkok is located just a couple trucks down from Holy Cow Darn Good Burgers, and offers an eclectic menu of “authentic food, ranging from Pad Thai to Nutella crêpes.”

They’ve been in the court for a while now, but they’ve been overlooked thus far in restaurant news, so we’re giving them a mention.

We haven’t been able to find their hours yet, but we’ll add them here if we do.

Seven Brew Coffee

Staff photo

A new drive-thru coffee shop will soon open on the south side of town.

A new manufactured building was installed at 1195 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. next to Ginger Rice and Noodle Bar, and signs recently were placed in front of the building indicating it will be a Seven Brew Coffee Shop.

Here’s a link to a video of the Fayetteville location being installed.

According to the company’s website, the local chain operates three stores in Benton County, with other locations in the works in Springdale and Fayetteville.

The restaurant’s menu focuses on coffee drinks and fruit smoothies.
