First Thursday to celebrate ‘Sweet Summer’ on July 5

First Thursday Fayetteville returns to the downtown square on Thursday, July 5.

This month’s theme is “Sweet Summer,” a celebration of the season.

Activities
Activities include a water slide, lawn sprinklers, face painting and all-ages yoga. Other kid’s activities are planned from Terra Studios, The New School and Crystal Bridges.

Food and drink
Expect food from Andouille Cajun, Kona Ice, Tooley’s BBQ, Baker’s Roasted Nuts, Tasty Corn Roasters, Burton’s Ice Cream and Ozark Natural Foods. This month’s featured beer garden brewery is Columbus House, who’ll offer their Yellow Card Golden Ale, Nutty Runner Nut Brown Ale, Regnat Populus Pale Ale, and Tiki Tilly Pineapple Wheat.

Music
Live music is scheduled from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with Four On The Floor Jazz 4-tet.

Art
As always, opening exhibitions are planned at the galleries around the square.

Stage Eighteen will present a gallery reception and art exhibition entitled “Found Object Paintings” featuring works by Gregory Moore. Admission is free, and a cash bar will be available for guests during the reception.

Art Ventures Gallery will feature responses by by over a dozen artists to current social and political happenings, along with live music by Oscar Torres.

Fenix Fayetteville will continue its Immersion exhibition, which runs through July 29.

Parking
Free parking is available in the Fayetteville Town Center parking deck (entrance is on East Avenue) and at 207 E. Center St.
