Fayetteville seeks volunteers to conduct annual litter index

City officials are seeking seven volunteers to conduct the annual Keep Fayetteville Beautiful Litter Index. The city must perform the index each year to gauge litter issues as part of its requirements as a Keep America Beautiful affiliate.

The index survey will take place on Wednesday, July 25 from 8 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. and will begin and end at the Recycling and Trash Collection Division facility, located at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Rd. A 30-minute training session will take place at 8 a.m. that day. Volunteers will then ride in a city van giving scores about litter in Fayetteville neighborhoods. Volunteers will receive lunch.

To volunteer, contact Brian Pugh, waste reduction coordinator, at 479-718-7685 or e-mail [email protected]. Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and able to ride in a vehicle for multiple hours at a time.
