The city’s annual celebration of the Community Block Grant program is set for Friday morning at Walker Park. The event will include free hot dogs, cool drinks, ice cream, and family-friendly activities. It starts at 10:30 a.m. and will last until around 1:30 p.m.

Pop icon Janet Jackson (or Miss Jackson, if you’re nasty) will perform at the Walmart AMP on Friday night. She’ll play some hits, we’re sure.

St. Louis reggae act Aaron Kamm and the One Drops, along with Tulsa band Henna Roso, will perform at George’s on Saturday night. Tickets are $10 at George’s ticketing site.

Also Friday night, another installment of the Southtown Comedy Night is set for around 8:30 p.m. at Nomad’s. Comedians include Tristan Newell and Aaron Taylor. Tickets are $5. Here’s more info.

Saturdays in Fayetteville start at the Farmers’ Market on the square.

After that, you could check out some talented students from the School of Rock at the Fayetteville Public Library at around 10:30 a.m.

Saturday night, there’s a Beatles Tribute in the woods outside of Crystal Bridges. It’s part of their Forest Concert Series, and the setting out there is really cool.

In Fayetteville, you could check out The Austin Lounge Lizards in the old Ozark Mountain Smokehouse out on MLK Jr. Boulevard (also known as the Fayettechill warehouse building). They’ve got a pretty cool setup for shows out there.

Also Saturday night, composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ David Starfire will perform at George’s. Tickets are $15 on George’s ticketing site.

There’s plenty more below. Click around for details.
