A Branson-based promotor, author, and contractor will open a diner, steakhouse, and entertainment venue on College Avenue this fall.

Paul Dunn, a contractor and former property manager of the Grand Palace Theatre who wrote a book about his experience, and partners have purchased the building formerly home to AQ Chicken at 1925 N. College Ave., and plan to open a multi-use venue called The New American in its place.

The building will be split into a diner/butcher block steakhouse on one side, and a bar on the other where Dunn said he plans to host a late night sports comedy talk show on Saturdays.

Dunn said renovations on the building will begin soon, and he hopes to be up and running in October.
