The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s Wingfoot Two blimp is scheduled to arrive at Fayetteville’s Drake Field airport on Thursday, July 19, according to a news release.

With good weather, the blimp should arrive sometime in the early afternoon for a stopover as part of a cross-country flight to Goodyear’s Suffield, Ohio hangar where it will undergo routine maintenance.

Spectators are welcome to view the blimp from the airport parking lot at 4500 S. School Ave.

Wingfoot Two left the company’s airship base in Carson, California last week for the 2,600-mile trek across eight states. It has been making overnight stops at various locations along the way.

Officials said the blimp will stay an extra day in Fayetteville, to allow the crew to rest, and will depart from Drake Field Saturday morning (July 21). The blimp’s next stop is St. Louis.
