Local theatre company Artist’s Laboratory Theatre will host a Cultural Agreements Workshop Tuesday night at their south Fayetteville facility.

The workshop, set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, will be led by Los Angeles artists and community organizers, Maria Chaj-Villamil and Mateo Ozelotzin, and will explore how arts centers, organizations, and community members in NWA can strengthen social justice efforts in the region.

According to a press release about the event, attendees of the workshop “will learn how to have the difficult conversations necessary in order to make real community visioning and agreements work, unpack how racism, bias, prejudice, discrimination, and cultural appropriation act as barriers to thriving communities, and explore how arts centers and organizations both promote – and create barriers to – community engagement.”

Admission is valued at $50, but is available on a pay-what-you-can basis.
