Washington County Historical Society ice cream social set for Saturday

The ice cream social event of the year in Fayetteville is coming up this weekend.

Of course, we’re talking about Washington County Historical Society’s annual Ice Cream Social, set for Saturday, Aug. 18 from 3-6 p.m. at the Headquarter’s House Museum (118 E. Dickson Street).

The event includes homemade cakes, live music by Northwest Arkansas Heritage Brass Band, tours of the historical Headquarter’s House Museum, a performers by dancers from the Heritage School, and of course, plenty of delicious ice cream.

The bookstore will be open, and attendees can also go on self-guided tours featuring new touchscreens available at the museum.

Admission is $5 for adults, or $2.50 for kids 6-12. A family ticket is also available for $15.

Proceeds from the event benefit the historical society.
