First Thursday will have a tailgate theme on Sept. 6

The First Thursday event set for Sept. 6 will have a tailgate theme, according to Experience Fayetteville, the city’s tourism bureau.

The event is free and open to the public on the downtown Fayetteville square starting at 5 p.m.

Expect live music from 5:15-8 p.m. starting with MöpandPöp, a band that specializes in children’s music and comedy. After that, it’s Mike Hosty’s one-man band.

This month’s beer garden will feature Apple Blossom Brewing Co. and house-made sangria on the Fayetteville Town Center Plaza.

An all-ages yoga setup will begin at 6 p.m. on the Town Center East Terrace. Bring your own mat and water, or just show up and borrow one from Trailside Yoga.

Food trucks this month include Ozark Natural Foods, Local moh-tiv, Kona Ice, Baker’s German Roasted Nuts, Flavorful Kettle Corn, and The Big Squeeze Lemonade.

Several activities are planned, including Razorback Athletics giveaways, an inflatable football slide, face painting, and other options from Terra Studios, The New School and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

Art openings are planned at the galleries around the square, including Art Ventures, Fenix Fayetteville, and Stage Eighteen. Independent artists will also be selling wares on the square.

Several local merchants around the square will be open late specifically for the event.

Free parking is available at the Fayetteville Town Center parking deck (entrance on East Avenue) and at 207 E. Center Street.
