Uptown Fayetteville may soon have another hotel option just off the Fulbright Expressway.

Documents submitted to the city show plans for a 77,747-square-foot Hyatt Place hotel with 142 parking spaces and eight bike racks at 348 E. Van Asche Drive.

The 6.25-acre lot is a field of undeveloped land between the Watermark at Steele Crossing complex and Butterflies & Frogs daycare. It’s near the intersection of Mall Avenue and is adjacent to Mud Creek (see map below).

Once complete, it would be the third hotel in that neighborhood. A Courtyard Marriott is located at the intersection of Van Asche Drive and Mall Avenue, and a Fairfield Inn & Suites is currently under construction next to Altitude Trampoline Park on Van Asche.

Hyatt currently operates only one property in Arkansas, according to the company’s website. A Hyatt Place is located east of the Interstate 49 interchange at West Walnut Street in Rogers.

The Subdivision Committee is scheduled to review the Fayetteville location plans at its next regular meeting at 9 a.m. on Sept. 27 in City Hall room 326.
