It’s almost time for another season of the Symphony in Fayetteville.

Local orchestra SoNA will open their 2018-19 season next month with a new show titled Masterworks I: Bernstein & Brahms on Nov. 3 at Walton Arts Center.

The show will feature music from Leonard Bernstein’s hit broadway musical, On the Town, including the numbers “The Great Lover Displays Himself,” “Lonely Town: Pas de Deux” and “Times Square: 1944,” along with German composter Johannes Brahms first symphony, and music from Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara’s Symphony No. 7.

SoNA will perform under the direction of acclaimed Maestro, Paul Haas.

“We begin our new season with a program of exciting and evocative works,” Haas said. “SoNA brings you Leonard Bernstein’s sizzling snapshot of New York in 1944, Einojuhani Rautavaara’s ethereal Come un sogno, and Johannes Brahms’ triumphant first symphony. We hope you’ll join us!”

After the opening show next month, SoNA’s season will continue throughout the year, with five additional shows planned in the season. For a full schedule, visit their website.
