‘Rock for the River’ fundraiser set for Thursday

A fundraiser for the Buffalo River Foundation is planned in Fayetteville this week.

The event, titled Rock For the River V, is set for 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Fayettechill’s Basecamp location on Dickson Street.

Representatives from the foundation will be on hand to discuss past, current, and future projects, and there will be live music by The Creek Rocks.

Funds raised during the event will go toward the purchase of the Roberts Tract, a private inholding in the Buffalo National River which blocks completion of the Buffalo River Trail between Highways 65 and 14. Purchasing this tract will open up 28 miles of trail. Fayettechill will be releasing a new limited-edition tee to raise funds for the foundation, and Puritan will donate $1 from every beer sold to the cause.

More info can be found at the Facebook event.
