A free paper shredding event is scheduled for Fayetteville residents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the city’s Recycling and Trash facility, located at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road.

There is a limit of five copy paper-sized boxes per resident.

The event is held in conjunction with the latest city-wide bulky waste cleanup, which takes place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both the Recycling and Trash facility and at Vandergriff Elementary, 2200 N. Vandergriff Street.

It’s the third of four scheduled fall bulky waste cleanup events, in which crews accept bulky items too large to fit into trash receptacles. The final cleanup is set for Nov. 3 at two locations.

Residents are asked to bring a copy of a recent water bill to verify Fayetteville residency.

There are limitations on what can be accepted at the cleanups.
