Mike Anderson’s new crop of hoop Hogs will face their first opponent of the year with an exhibition matchup versus Tusculum on Friday night at Bud Walton Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

There are some quality shows happening in town Friday night as well, with TheatreSquared’s “Skeleton Crew” playing at Nadine Baum Studios, and the hit musical “School of Rock” at Walton Arts Center on Friday and through the weekend.

How about a Halloween Party? DJ Beat Bachs’ annual Halloween Dance Party is happening at Pinpoint on Block Avenue. They go hard. For real.

Just down the street, Maxine’s Tap Room will host a Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory-themed Halloween Party. We can confirm that there will be Golden Tickets at the event, so, yeah. You gotta get one of those.

The Hog football team will try again to get their first SEC win of the year when the Vanderbilt Commodores come to town for a matchup at Razorback Stadium. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. It’s also on the SEC Network.

There are a ton of Halloween parties and costume contests happening on Saturday night, since Halloween falls in the middle of the week this year. Probably the largest on Saturday night is Halloween in the Hollow at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. This year’s party will include music by DJ Werewulf, a Haunted Trail Tour with ArkansasStaged, Live Mural Painting by Yatika Fields, Interactive Tarot Reading by Elisa Harkins, NWA Magic Mirror Photo booth, Pumpkin Patch – Carve and Decorate, Gallery performances by 1491s, Mystic Readings and more. Here in Fayetteville, Maxine’s continues their weekend of Wonka-ness, and they’ll have DJ Clunk providing the soundtrack for the dance party on Saturday night. JBGB, JJ’s, Scarpino, C4 Lounge, and lots of others will be celebrating the holiday with parties and costume contests as well.
