Fayetteville officials continue to seek public input on the vision and implementation program for the 71B Corridor Plan.

City planners will host the first in a four-part series of events this week during two public meetings scheduled for Nov. 13 and 14 at First Baptist Church on the corner of College Avenue and Dickson Street. The meetings will last from 5-7 p.m. and will take place inside room M105 (enter through the main church office doors on the north end of the building).

From the city:

The City of Fayetteville is preparing a plan for the 71B Corridor and seeks public input over the next four months, November through January. During the week of November 13, planners are meeting with stakeholder groups and the public to explore transportation options from a “big picture” point of view. These include vehicle traffic, bus transit, bicyclists, and pedestrians. We want to hear your ideas for the corridor’s future. Stop by for 15 minutes or the entire session to share your ideas and help design 71B for the future.

With the majority of through-traffic in Northwest Arkansas now traveling along Interstate 49, city planners want to rethink the future of the Highway 71B corridor, which includes College Avenue and South School Avenue in Fayetteville. Officials said the goal is to create safe travel for vehicles, transit, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Study for the plan includes two areas: North College Avenue from North Street to the northern city limits near Lake Fayetteville, and Archibald Yell Boulevard and South School Avenue from Rock Street to Cato Springs Road.
