Jones Center offers mountain bike skills training

The Jones Center has partnered with The Ride Series to offer a variety of mountain bike clinics for anyone looking to improve their basic skills and feel more confident on a bike.

The program, led by professional mountain bike rider Richard Drew, will take place at the Runway Bike Park at The Jones Center, and will include fundamental skills clinics, small group skills sessions, and multi-day camps for mountain bike riders of all ages.

The Ride Series MTB Skills Clinics has created one of the most structured curriculums in the industry and uses a footprint of purpose-built implements that foster incredible growth and progression in a safe and supportive environment.

The first class is for junior riders ages 9-13, and is scheduled during the Thanksgiving holiday week. More classes will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

What: Junior FUNdamentals Skills Clinics
When: Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, 12-4 p.m.

Clinic Format:
– The Classroom Session: Introduction to proper body position and weight balance, followed by the basics of dynamic braking and turning.
– The Ground School: Various drills to implement the newly learned techniques.
– Instant feedback will help riders improve and build confidence.
– Pump Track and Skills Course Sessions: Coach Drew will work riders through each area of the Runway Bike Park.
