New show ‘Talking With’ opens Thursday at Ozark Mountain Smokehouse

A new(ish) local theatre company will open a brand new show in Fayetteville this week.

The Smokehouse Players, a company formed in 2017 to perform inside Ozark Mountain Smokehouse by locals Terry Vaughan and Tim Gilster, will debut a show titled ‘Talking With’ on Thursday, Nov. 15-16 at the smokehouse.

The show is written by Jane Martin, and features a collection of 11 monologues delivered by female actors playing women from a diverse variety of backgrounds.

It is directed by mainstay of Fayetteville theatre, Jules Taylor, and stars an all-star cast of local players, including Janis Duley, Amy Eversole, Katherine Forbes, Victoria Fox, Julie Gabel, Amy Giezentanner Hardwick, Vickie Hilliard, Amy Jones, Jonny Schremmer, Jules Taylor, Terry Vaughan.

Local musician Jori Costello will provde the soundtrack.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday Nov. 15-16. Tickets are free, though donations will be accepted at the door.

On Thursday night, all proceeds from the evening will benefit the Magdalene Serenity House, a local organization that helps to “rebuild the lives of women who have experienced trauma, addiction, and incarceration.”
