Fayetteville announces winners of dog photo contest

The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department has announced the winners of its “Best Bark in the Park” dog photo contest.

Officials said over 30 submissions were received. Entries were judged by members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board who scored on specific characteristics, such as appearance, charisma, expression and creative use of either Bryce Davis Park, Gulley Park, Walker Park, or Wilson Park.

From the department:

First Place: Winnie at Gulley Park: Winnie is a three-year-old mixed breed who loves exploring Fayetteville’s parks! At home, she naps to pass the time. Winnie wins a free examination and grooming from Animal Medical Clinic.

Second Place: Penny at Wilson Park: Penny is a one-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She’s just a puppy who loves to play in the creek! Penny’s prize is an Eno collar and safety lite from Pack Rat Outdoor Center.

Third Place: Cooper at Gulley Park: Cooper is a two-year-old Golden Retriever who goes to Gulley Park with his humans to have is best day (again and again)! Cooper cops canine cupcakes and some for his humans from Bliss Cupcakes.
