Toppling Goliath, Crosstown, Nine Band breweries approved for Arkansas distribution

Beer drinkers in Arkansas will soon have a few more out-of-state options to choose from.

Iowa’s Toppling Goliath Brewery today announced plans to expand distribution into the Natural State.

Memphis-based Crosstown Brewing Co. and Texas’ Nine-Band Brewing will also make the jump into Arkansas, according to state documents.

Toppling Goliath is expected to hit shelves this week with a shipment that will include flagships Dorothy’s Lager, Pompeii IPA, Pseudo Sue Pale Ale and Golden Nugget IPA. Also planned to ship this week are rotating brews Fire, Skulls & Money IPA, Sosus DIPA, MoZee IPA, and a collaboration with Bottle Logic Brewing called Gamma, Gamma Ray! IPA.

Toppling Goliath was founded in 2009 in rural northeast Iowa, and in less than a decade has received a variety of industry awards, including being named the second-best brewery in the world by BeerAdvocate in 2015. That same year its Kentucky Brunch Brand Stout was named the No. 1 Beer in the World by users of RateBeer.

Crosstown Brewing opened earlier this year next door to the recently renovated Crosstown Concourse building in Memphis. The brewery offers a variety of options in the taproom, but as of last month was only packaging its Traffic IPA and Siren Blonde Ale.

Nine-Band Brewing opened in 2015 in Allen, Texas. Canned beers include a pale ale, kolsch, hefeweizen, summer wheat, oktoberfest, barley wine, honey blonde, stout and a brown ale.
