Giveaway: Preview performance of TheatreSquared’s ‘Every Brilliant Thing,’ Jan. 15 at Nadine Baum Studios

It is not every day that you get to see a Tony Award-winning, Emmy Award-winning veteran immensely talented and nationally-known Broadway performer doing an immersive, intimate, one-person show in Fayetteville. It almost never happens.

In fact, we’re not sure it has ever happened before. And even if it has, that immensely talented performer was probably not as immensely talented as, someone like, I don’t know, Liz Callaway.

Thanks to local theatre company TheatreSquared, however, there will be several days over the next month or so when exactly what we described above will happen in Fayetteville, when Callaway performs a four-week run of the Duncan Macmillan play, Every Brilliant Thing.

TheatreSquared’s intimate space has been completely reimagined for this immersive staging in which is every seat is a part of the action. Flyer contributor Kevin Kinder spoke to Callaway about the new show earlier this week, who described it as “a collaboration between (herself) and the audience.”

It’s gonna be rad.

Performances of the show are scheduled on Tuesday-Fridays at 7:30 p.m., on Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. from Jan. 16-Feb. 10.

A special invitation-only, working rehearsal VIP preview of the show is also in the works for Tuesday, Jan. 15, and we have 10 pairs(!) of tickets to give away to that performance. Your chances of winning are good. Good luck.

How to enter

The premise of Every Brilliant Thing is that the narrator as a 7 year old makes a list of “every brilliant thing” for her mother, to remind her of all the wonderful reasons to life he can think of. Ice cream. Kung fu movies. Laughing so hard you shoot milk out of your noise. Brilliant things like that.

Along those lines, leave a comment below listing one brilliant thing, and you’re entered.

What you’ll win

Ten winners will win two tickets to the 7 p.m. preview performance on Tuesday, Jan. 15 of “Every Brilliant Thing,” the new production by TheatreSquared now playing Nadine Baum Studios.

A few rules (read ‘em carefully):

  • You may enter this specific contest once.
  • This contest is open to anyone anywhere except Fayetteville Flyer writers, TheatreSquared employees, and their immediate family members.
  • Contest is open until 10 a.m. CST on Friday, Jan. 11.
We’ll notify the winner in the comments of this post. Once we notify the winner, you’ll have 24 hours to respond via email to claim your prize.
