Weekend Flyer: Razorback sports, Floozies, Bambis, wrestling and more

Who’s ready for Razorback baseball? If it’s you, we’ve got great news for you, buddy. The Diamond Hogs open their season on Friday afternoon with the first game in a weekend series with Eastern Illinois at Baum-Walker Stadium. First pitch is at 3 p.m. Wear a jacket.

Music-wise, there’s a big dance party/show at the Fayetteville Town Center with Floozies, Too Many Zoos, and Dreamers Delight. Tickets are $25, available here.

Over at George’s, Oklahoma rockers Read Southall will perform with Ryan Wilcox & The Sunday Shakes, and Little Rock invades Smoke & Barrel on Friday night when Central Arkansas bands DeFrance and Stephen Neeper & The Wild Hearts perform.

Also Saturday night in tunes, locals Guta are back together for a show at Mojo’s Pints & Pies.

Local garage punk band Bambis just released a new six-song tape on local label, Tape Dad, and they’ll celebrate the release with a show at Backspace Saturday night. Dylan Earl & The Reasons Why, and Mouton are also on the bill. You can listen to it here.

There’s a chili cookoff on Saturday, and it’s for a great cause. Chilirhea, the annual event that has raised nearly half-a-million dollars for Alzheimers research since its inception, is set for noon at Washington County Fairgrounds. Here’s more info.

Music-wise, locals Opal Agafia & The Sweet Nothings will perform at George’s, and Jenna and the Soul Shakers are at Mojo’s.
