Young the Giant, Fitz and the Tantrums added to Walmart AMP lineup

A couple of high-energy rock bands will perform at the Walmart AMP this summer.

Young the Giant and Fitz and the Tantrums announced an upcoming joint tour today, and a stop at the AMP on July 10 is on the list of upcoming shows.

Young the Giant broke out in 2010 with the release of their self-titled debut album. The record’s first three singles, “Cough Syrup,” “My Body,” and “Apartment” all charted on alternative radio. Their latest release, Mirror Master came out last summer, before being re-released on Electra Records in October. From that record, their song “Superposition” just hit No. 1 on the Alternative radio chart.

Indie-soul band Fitz and the Tantrums, also on Electra Records, got its start around the same time as Young the Giant, and has enjoyed similar success. The band is best known for songs like “HandClap,” “MoneyGrabber,” “Don’t Gotta Work It Out,” and others. The band has been working on a new record, which could be out sometime this year.

Nashville indie-pop band, Coin is also on the bill.

Tickets to the show range from $29.50-$59.50 plus fees, and go one sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25. To purchase, visit the Walton Arts Center or Amp Box Offices, call 479-443-5600, or visit amptickets.com.
