A construction project is expected to close a portion of Lake Fayetteville Road for the remainder of the month.

Contractors for the city of Springdale are scheduled to begin replacing water utility infrastructure located under the road this week. The work will require closing the roadway, preventing vehicle access to the North Shore parking lot for about three weeks. The closure was set to begin March 11, but as of Tuesday, the roadway was still open. Once closed, officials said the road should be open by March 29.

The parking lot near the Lake Fayetteville Park softball fields will remain open as well as the marina parking lot. The Lake Fayetteville Environmental Study Center parking lot is available for use when school is not in session. The Lake Fayetteville Trail and marina will remain open.
