The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, and if you look really hard, you’ll notice a few sprigs of green starting to pop out of the ground around Fayetteville these last few days.

That means it’s almost time for the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on the Fayetteville square.

According to Farmers’ Market Business and Program coordinator Leann Halsey, the outdoor market will return to the square this year on Saturday, April 6.

The market has been open during the winter at Ozark Natural Foods, and it will remain open there through the rest of the month of March.

After that, the market will be open on the square from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday, and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.

For those who aren’t familiar, the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market includes around 60 vendors each year selling all kinds of locally-grown flowers, produce, meats, eggs, baked goods, plants, and arts and crafts.

In addition, there are typically musicians performing on each corner, community groups passing out brochures, politicians kissing babies, and tons of people circling the square in the warm spring air while browsing the locally-grown awesomeness.
